Last year's Governor’s Bullying Prevention Summit video contest was so successful, we’ve decided to do it again this year! This exciting video contest is open to all Iowa students (K-12) with one video entry per school.
The theme of this year’s summit is “Mission Possible: Stepping up the Response” and the focus of this year’s summit is practical next steps when it comes to bullying prevention efforts in the state.
With that focus, we encourage all students to engage their entire school and community in a bullying prevention campaign. The goal of this campaign is for there to be a lasting impact and change in the culture of the school, as all students deserve to feel safe and respected at school.
Videos that meet all contest guidelines will be posted on EducateIowa’s video streaming portal. Videos must be submitted by Thursday, October 10, 2013. A contest winner will be determined by an all-star panel of judges using the 100 point scale detailed in the contest rules.
The 1st place video will receive a $500 prize to be used for bullying prevention efforts at their school, along with a visit by the governor and lieutenant governor for an all-school assembly. 2nd place will receive a $350 prize and 3rd place will receive a $150 prize to be used for bullying prevention efforts.
Thank you to the Iowa Hall of Pride for their sponsorship and partnership on the Governor’s Bullying Prevention Summit Video Contest.
